For the people you develop
Coaches and facilitators can use the Snapshot with clients. It's free, it takes twenty minutes, and it gives your client language for something they've been circling without being able to name.
What it adds to your practice: it separates how open someone is from how quickly they come back — two different problems requiring two different conversations. It scores awareness on its own axis, so a client who can see themselves closing but can't yet stop reads as further along, not further behind. And it asks whether a closure was chosen or compelled, which is often the most useful thing on the page.
Use it with clients now, at no cost. If you'd like to go further, the Availability Practitioner Circle is a founding group of practitioners working with the instrument together — monthly sessions, debrief guidance, and real influence over what gets built next.

Where it fits in your work
If you'd like to use the Snapshot in your own practice, you can. It's free to take and free to send to a client. Two ways practitioners are using it so far. Some send it to a client themselves and work with whatever comes back — often early on, when you want a wider view of the person than the presenting issue gives you. Others point someone toward me directly, when what surfaces sits outside what they want to hold, or when a second pair of eyes would serve the client better than one. Both are welcome. Referring someone on isn't a failure of the coaching relationship. It is usually a piece of good judgement about conditions.
How practitioner use actually works — debriefing, framing, what I can offer alongside it — is something I'm working out with the first people using it, and I'd like that to include you. I keep a short list of practitioners I write to as this develops. Tell me and I'll add you.
At contracting
Gives a first session something specific to work from, in the client’s own words, before you have earned the right to ask directly.
As a group opener
Shared language with nothing to compare. No composite means no ranking, no leaderboard, little risk of exposure.
At a stall
When it is not skills and not motivation, this locates the one domain where nothing is arriving.
On yourself
The practitioner is the instrument. your availability is the competence, not a wellness concern.
